Once Again Murray Creates a Memorable Character

St. Vincent, Another Outstanding Movie with Bill Murray

St. Vincent was released to theaters on October 10, 2014. St. Vincent is a comedy about a retired, alcoholic named Vincent de Van Nuys (Bill Murray) who babysits his new neighbor, Maggie’s (Melissa McCarthy) son, Oliver (Jaeden Lieberher) for a measly 11 dollars an hour. Maggie is a single mother who is raising Oliver on her own. Vincent takes Oliver to the race track, teaches him about the world, and introduces Daka (Naomi Watts), a pregnant stripper, as a “Lady of the Night”. The 12 year old, and the scornful oldman create an interesting pair and score an unlikely friendship. Vincent teaches the young boy how to defend himself,  how to gamble and “how the world works”. In return Oliver teaches Vincent that the greatest love of all is inside of him.

St. Vincent  is directed by Theodore Melfi, and stars Bill Murray, Melissa MCcarthy, Chris O’Dowd and Naomi Watts. The film is rated PG-13 and made 7.7 million dollars in the box office. I recommend seeing this with your parent or friend; however this movie is not appropriate for young children, due to the language and adult situations.

This was a exceptionally good movie, with some amazing acting. Comedy is everywhere in this movie, and there is not a single boring moment. I rate this movie 8.5 out of 10 stars, due to some of its “adult scenes” and some offensive jokes. You will laugh ‘till you cry when watching St. Vincent.
