I’ve come so far and now I see

How strong I’ve truly come to be

It’s crazy how I never knew

The things I put my family through

I once was broken without a hope

I didn’t know how to cope

I took a vow the very first time

My whole life changed at the drop of a dime

I began to do it more and more

It shook me down to my very core

I starved and binged to lose the weight

My eyes were filled with pain and hate

I fought this battle but not alone

I lost 5 friends who were on their own

Just before that I lost my dad

I struggled with life more than I ever had

It’s been almost 5 years since that day

I lied and said that I was ok

I went to the hospital again and again

My mom refused to let me win

She fought for my life when I wanted to end it

And to this day she never quit

I am grateful for having her by my side

She held me close each time I cried

It made us closer than ever before

We fought together to win this war

8 months have gone by and I’m still going

I want to tell all of you who are fighting

The fight is not over but don’t give in

I promise you that one day you will win

It’ll be hard but I know how it feels

But every wound eventually heals

The scars, yes some last forever

But they tell your story one way or another

Don’t be ashamed of who you are

Everyone is just a little bizarre

But you’re not alone I promise you

You’re strong enough to make it through
