On March 7th, Australian music artist, Troye Sivan, had a concert for his Blue Neighbourhood tour. He did something you rarely see happen. Troy had received a handwritten note and read it on stage for a mother in the crowd. The singer had asked the young lady if she was sure that he should read it and the girl, known as Kelly, had assured him by shouting ‘yes’.
Troye then read the note to the crowd: ‘If you’re reading this, can you announce that Kelly is bisexual, please?”, pointing in her direction. He went back to the crowd and shook her hand after reading the note. He seemed to have been a bit shocked by the experience, but the crowd loved it. After this, there’s a video of Kelly running and embracing her mom, both of them crying with happiness.

On August 7th, 2013, Troye Sivan uploaded a video to his YouTube page. In the video, he came out to all of his fans. He had talked about how he had come out to his family on August 7th, 2010, and that he wanted to be comfortable in his own skin and be able to express himself freely to his. On May 16, 2015, He uploaded a video titled ‘Coming Out (part 2)’ to his channel, expressing what it has been like for him to be open with his sexuality and how it has improved his life. Troye’s videos on YouTube don’t tend to be very lengthy, but the video lasted almost as long as his first coming out video did, lasting 8 minutes.
This was a life changing experience for two people in the audience, and Kelly tweeted a picture of her and her mother in a car, saying “So I showed my mom the video of me running to her after the concert (she hadn’t seen it) she said ‘We’re so cute!”
