We all know how tough it can be to endure a boring, one-hour lecture. It’s also really tempting to skip classes if we’re tired, busy playing video games, or prefer to go out with friends. So, in a survey ,we asked random classes of students at Granite Hills High School what
they would do if they had the opportunity to skip class in order to get a lower grade. We wanted to see if students at our school were as responsible as we expected. We believed that our results would be inaccurate if we asked students to write their names on the survey because it would be a little less honest. So, in order to get more honest results, we asked the students to answer anonymously the questions.
In the end, 80% of students said that they wouldn’t skip class, while 19% said that they would. Truthfully, I was surprised by these results. When I set out to do the survey. I expected there would be more people who would skip class. I had a very negative view of how the responses would go, and I underestimated the integrity of the student body. This was actually a nice surprise, because it showed that our students are more responsible than I originally thought, and also they do want to learn. Not only did they care about their teacher’s time through not skipping class, but they also displayed their self-regard through having consideration in caring for others time.
In conclusion, don’t skip class. You wouldn’t want to waste your time, and energy by skipping class. Also you wouldn’t want to skip class because, you’re just going to have to repeat it again. So don’t skip class.
