$53 Million Dollar Debt for Kanye West

The well-known rapper/fashion designer Kanye West announced Tuesday night on Twitter that he was 53 million dollars in debt. “I write this to my brothers while still 53 million dollars in personal debt… Please pray we overcome… This is my true heart…” He also notes in other tweets shortly afterwards that he is personally rich and can buy expensive things for his family and himself, but that he needs money and more resources to create ‘more beautiful ideas to the world’. He said he’s known about his debt for the last three years and people or industries were trying to ruin his career by using this against him, so he just wanted to let the world know personally. “My dreams brought me into debt and I’m close to seeing the light of day…” was his last Twitter quote about the situation.

Forbes Magazine thoroughly explains why they believe the confident rap star is in so much debt. Forbes explains the cause of his debt being his fashion and shoe line that he introduced about the end of last year. He put lots of time and money into the dream of being a fashion designer, but it just wasn’t working for him. Many people were inspired by his designs, but they wouldn’t buy from him. His shoe line from Adidas roughly each coast about $1,000. THe price of his shoes personally surprised me because, Kanye came from such a poor life growing up, and I felt like maybe he would realize the struggle of the worlds these days and make them a more reasonable price for the people. If they were the same price as a Nike running shoe would’ve been, I think he probably would have less debt.

Kanye has many people who don’t even care that he is in debt, but he does have many loyal fans. The fans are so loyal, that one of his fans actually created a ‘GoFundMe’ for the rap star’s troubles. The creator of the page explains in the description that Kanye needs our money and help to keep spreading his ideas into the world. The page has only made about 2,000, so good luck finding the other millions, Mr.West.
