“All I ever wanted was to make music without being afraid, scared, or abused.” Kesha shared on her emotional Facebook message she recently posted on February 24 of 2016. For the past week, Kesha has been all America has been talking about on social media. After a New York judge refused to release pop star Kesha Sebert from a recording contract with producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, a quarter-million fans signed a petition calling for a boycott of Sony Music Entertainment.

Kesha first filed a suit in 2014, claiming Dr. Luke was sexually, emotionally and verbally abusive to her when they worked together. The 28 year old singer has been trying to get out of her contract with Sony and Dr. Luke, which includes six more records under the producer’s label. Luke also filed a counter-lawsuit against Kesha, her mother and her manager in 2014. The claims against Kesha’s mother and manager have been dropped.

New York Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich ruled this past Friday that she needed to follow through on the terms of her contract, but didn’t have to work with Dr. Luke.

“She does not have to have any interface at all with Mr. Gottwald in recording or producing,” she said.

Kornreich has not ruled on a motion to dismiss Kesha’s lawsuit or a motion to dismiss Gottwald’s counter-suit.

Since Kornreich refusal to let Kesha out of her current contract, the singer has gotten support from celebrities such as Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande on social media. Taylor Swift even donated $250,000 to help her with whatever she needed.

On Tuesday, Kesha posted a thank you to her supporters and fans on Instagram.

“I am beyond words in gratitude. thank you is not enough but it is all I have. a million times over and forever thank you. the support I have received has left my face swollen from tears. I love you all so much,” she wrote.
