If you have any interest in football, and even if you don’t, I’m sure you heard about the Super Bowl that took place on Sunday. According to The Washington Post, just about 115.5 million people tuned in and viewed the game to watch the Denver Broncos against the Carolina Panthers. Lady Gaga sang the National Anthem, and did an amazing job. This article, however, is about the love-filled halftime performances.

Coldplay, Beyonce, and Bruno Mars All performed and did an outstanding job. Beyonce even caught herself from an embarrassing fall. Another thing Beyonce did at the Super Bowl is the ‘Black Lives Matter’ protest that her backup dancers helped her present.

Many people of other races have gotten upset over her backup dancers being all African-American, and just at the whole message. Some say it should be ‘All Lives Matter’ and not just ‘Black Lives Matter’. Others say that having “black pride” is no different than having “white pride”, which usually offends people.

Beyonce’s message in all of this, though, didn’t necessarily go towards other races. It went more against the police. Many cases of ‘Police brutality’ and African-American deaths in the hands of the police have been reported and all over the Internet in 2015, and it has upset many people not only on the Internet, but also people watching the news and reading newspapers.

One thing that should be said is that not all police officers are bad because of the ones on the news. Many people have become closed-minded when it comes to the police, thinking that they will immediately have a problem with police officers, when that is not the case. Please remember that almost all police officers are great people who work hard to keep our community safe.
