The True Story of What Happens in Newspaper

Showing off their immense superpowers, 3 of the Granite Planet staff members fly off in search of quesadillas!

Deep within the halls of Granite Hills, a small group of students gathered to fight the boredom of their peers with the power of words. They called themselves Journalism: Writers for the Granite Planet. The Granite Planet was to be their online hub where they would post articles for the students of Granite Hills. Everyday, they wrote story after story in order to inform the students of current events both in-school and out, sport news, the way our student body feels about certain subjects, and so much more!

In order to get more content out faster, the group split themselves into 5 sections: 2 were assigned to News, 2 to Student Life, 3 to Entertainment, 3 to Sports, and 2 to Opinion. Then there was The One To Rule Them All. Senior Editor was the most highly sought after position in all the land, but there was only one who deserved to have it. Her name was Cassidy The Powerful. Unlike most people with a lot of power, Cassidy used her power for good. She always tried to help others by pointing out their mistakes so that they could be better writers. Like every person who has power, Cassidy needed someone to help her distribute it. Thus, she appointed an editor to each section to help keep the balance when she could not.

In the News section, Cassidy appointed Kayla the Perfect to assist her colleague Courtney the Plant. For Student Life, Josie the Awesome was assigned to help Hannah the Fabulous. Madison the Honest was put in charge of Entertainment over Jacquelyn the Sophisticated and Jenna the Bubbly. The Sports Editor was Reanna the Humble, and she looks after Taylor the Casual and Ashley the Amazing. Finally, Cassidy assigned Kendyll the Cool to oversee Abby the Nerd.

In the News section, Kayla the Perfect and Courtney the Plant were told to write about general news. They would write about current events inside and outside of school. They would also publish stories that payed tribute to the staff and teachers that worked effortlessly to keep the school running.

Josie the Awesome and Hannah the Fabulous worked in Student Life to keep students educated about events, clubs, and other extracurricular activities that existed within the school. They wrote story after story about some of the interesting things that some of the kids at school were doing in their free time. They also wrote stories to honor some of the extraordinary students who were going above and beyond to make their high school experience a success.

The Entertainment section produced stories like movie reviews, song reviews, and some stories about different artists. Madison the Honest, Jacquelyn the Sophisticated, and Jenna the Bubbly worked tirelessly to tell the student body about things that are happening in the world of artists, movies, and even some plays.

Reanna the Humble, Taylor the Casual, and Ashley the Amazing worked in the Sports section in order to bring the field to the reader. They wrote about the different sports, and they went behind-the-scenes to show the reader what it’s like to be in a sport. Also, the Sports section was in charge of honoring the amazing athletes that helped take their teams to success.

Finally, the Opinion section was made up of Kendyll the Cool and Abby the Nerd. Opinion’s job was to give the student body their opinion on certain subjects while also giving it enough information to make up its own mind. They wrote stories about whether or not they agree with school rules, what people’s favorite snacks are, and so many more.

The system that they had set up seemed to be working smoothly. They produced about 8 stories a week in total. Like all other heroes, however, they faced a problem. They were putting so much work into getting quality content to the school, but there only seemed to be a few people who would go on and read the stories. The group of journalists thought long and hard about how they could get more people to look on their online hub. They tried hanging flyers around the school, but rather than going on and reading the paper, the students preferred to vandalize the flyers instead. The journalists had their hub advertised on the school’s daily announcements, and teachers were telling their students to go online to see it. However, nothing seemed to be working.

Eventually, Cassidy the Powerful asked Jacquelyn the Sophisticated to write a story about the group of heroes. That way, those that did look at the online hub would see how much work and effort is put into the stories that were posted. The audience was encouraged to tell the rest of the student body about the extensive amount of quality stories. Soon after the story would be put up, the number of people who viewed the online hub was expected to rise sharply.

The only way for this plan to work is by each and every person who reads these words to tell others about it. Help the Granite Planet grow. Help the student body get in touch with their school.
